I found these great wood pieces for the kitchen at Hobby Lobby a while ago. One is a fork and one is a spoon, though I desperately hated the shabby chic look that was painted on them. So with a quick coat of paint while watching Abby Lee Miller's Ultimate Dance Competition, I have two great wall pieces for above my cabinets.
You can see the texture through the paint but they will be so high no one will really notice, but now everyone will know.
Voila! Flat painted pieces that still need to be hung. Keep in mind these are only half of the idea for above the cabinets. The other half will be revealed shortly.
